ALBERTA HCA CURRICULUMExpand
The Alberta Government has recently updated the Health Care Aide curriculum to align with the new Alberta Health Care Aide Competency Profile, 2018 that replaced the Health Care Aide Competency Profile (2013). The 2018 Health Care Aide Competency Profile outlines the knowledge, skills, behaviors and attitudes required by all Health Care Aides who deliver care in Alberta.
To keep abreast with the current global trends and relevant standards on health care, the provincial curriculum of Health Care Aide in Alberta is also updated.
Beginning in Winter 2020 the Alberta Health Care Aide program when taken full time is completed in eight (8) months.
A new admission requirement will be implemented in Winter 2020 that requires a minimum of 60% in English Language Arts 20-2 or its equivalent.
June 30, 2020 is the cut off date to graduate under the older curriculum.
You may receive further information about changes of the Health Care Aide program once we get the approved new Alberta HCA curriculum. Please complete the attached form.
