Tuition fees
As an international student beginning your studies in the 2025–2026 academic year or later, your tuition will follow the current international rate.
You can find full details about tuition and program fees here.

Living Costs

Living expenses are likely to be your largest cost while studying. It’s important to budget for essentials such as:

  • Accommodation
  • Food and groceries
  • Textbooks and school supplies
  • Clothing and personal care
  • Entertainment and leisure
  • Transportation
  • Utilities (e.g., electricity, internet, heating)

We estimate that it will cost between CAD $18,000 and $35,000 per year to live and study as an international student in Alberta. Your actual costs may vary depending on your lifestyle and housing choices.

Additional costs

Some programs may include extra costs, such as:

  • Mandatory field courses
  • Specialized equipment or uniforms
  • Provincial exams
  • Optional study tours

Please check your specific program for a breakdown of any additional costs. Our admissions team is available to help you understand and plan for these expenses.

Yes, you can apply to more than one program. However, you must submit a separate application, along with all required materials and an application fee, for each program. If a portfolio or audition is required, you will need to submit or schedule one for each individual application. If you are accepted into more than one program at MTG Healthcare Academy, you will be required to choose only one to enroll in.

International students studying in Alberta are not eligible for provincial or federal financial aid programs reserved for Canadian citizens and permanent residents. However, international students may qualify for institutional scholarships or grants offered by MTG Healthcare Academy. These funds are limited and highly competitive. Scholarships do not cover the full cost of tuition and are awarded based on academic merit.

Diploma programs at MTG Healthcare Academy typically take 52 to 54 weeks to complete, while certificate programs range from 17 to 32 weeks in duration.

The timeline for admissions decisions depends on how quickly all required documents and application requirements are submitted. For domestic students, the admissions process typically takes about one week once all documentation is complete. For international students, the process can take anywhere from 6 months to 1 year, due to additional steps such as study permit processing and visa requirements. We recommend that international applicants allow for a generous grace period when planning their studies.
